446. Japan #5

Finally! My first Gotochi card. I've been waiting for this for so long. I hope it's only beginning of my wonderful collection. :)
They are very similar to Taiwanese Milu cards but not as thick.

Each prefecture in Japan has its own cards and they are available only in specific prefecture. That means you would have to travel across Japan to catch them all (like Pokemons haha).

My card shows National Diet Building located in 1-chome, Nagatachō, Chiyoda, Tokyo.  This is the place where both houses of National Diet of Japan meet.
Sessions of the House of Representatives take place in the left wing and sessions of the House of Councillors in the right wing.
The Diet Building was completed in 1936 and is constructed purely out of Japanese building materials, with the exception of the stained glass, door locks, and pneumatic tube system.

445. Nigeria #1

Beautiful Nigerian card I got from my friend Ahmed. Thank you!

The Efik are an ethnic group located primarily in southeastern Nigeria, in the southern part of Cross River State. The Efik speak the Efik language which is a Benue–Congo language of the Cross River family and closely related to Ibibio.
The Efik migrated down the Cross River from Cameroon in the 16th century and founded numerous settlements in the Calabar area in present-day Cross River State. Calabar is not to be confused with the Kalabari Kingdom in Rivers State which is an Ijaw state to its west. Cross River State with Akwa Ibom State was formerly one of the original twelve states of Nigeria known as the Southeastern State.

444. Barbados #1

Okay, Everyone. I'm getting back to blogging ;) I hope I will be able to keep up with all new postcards I'm getting. Keep your fingers crossed. ;)

This beautiful postcard arrived to me from Monika all the way from Barbados. I'm very happy because it's my first card from there and (as some of you might know) I'm a huge lover of all islands. (I even moved lately on one of them - Cyprus).

***

Tucked away on the south coast, past the Crane Beach and Sam Lord's Castle is Bottom Bay, a wide expansive beach with smooth rolling waves riding onto the shore.

The beach is semi enclosed by high coral cliffs, providing a panoramic view of the south shore. The scene is completed by the presence of tall palm trees that add to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the bay.

Always a popular picnic spot, it is also becoming a popular place to live and a number of homes are being built on the tops of the cliffs overlooking the beach and ocean. People who live there report spotting turtles and whales in the waters below the rocks.

Bathing here is not recommended, as the waves are very strong, and great care should be shown by those who choose to do so.
